Magnet rotation The most distinctive feature of a brushless DC motor is that it uses the magnetic field generated by the current flowing through the stator windings to rotate the rotor, which is equipped with permanent magnets. The switching of the current is controlled by sensors and integrated circuits. In the external-rotor type (where the rotating part is located outside the stator), the advantages include: the ability to generate high torque and stable rotational speed at constant speed. However, the disadvantages are: the rotor tends to be larger in size (resulting in lower sensitivity); and since the rotating part is located outside the stator, safety measures must be carefully considered.

 

Internal rotor type (rotating part is inside the stator)   Advantages: The rotor has a small volume and high sensitivity; the coil is located on the outside of the rotor, providing excellent heat dissipation performance.   Shortcomings: It is difficult to obtain strong torque, and the magnetic material can be damaged due to the influence of centrifugal force.
